Papillion man pleads not guilty to fatal domestic incident

Papillion, Nebraska – A Papillion man who faced serious charges stemming from a domestic incident that turned deadly stood before the Sarpy County court yesterday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

47-year-old Walter Alexander is accused of first-degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and flight to avoid arrest. These charges are linked to the death of 37-year-old Brittney Alexander, who authorities have identified as Walter’s estranged wife.

According to police reports, the tragic incident unfolded in Papillion in August. During what was described as a domestic violence-related dispute, Walter Alexander allegedly shot his wife, Brittney, and then fled the scene. This act of violence left the community in shock and mourning.

Following the incident, Walter Alexander was held without bond. His initial court appearance took place in August, shortly after the tragic event. As the case progresses, Alexander is scheduled for another court appearance on November 6.
