Power restored to over 1,000 Papillion residents following an outage

Papillion, Nebraska – Power was restored in Papillion following an unexpected outage that impacted more than 1,053 customers on Wednesday morning.

The area affected spanned between Schram Road and First Street from 84th Street to Beachwood Avenue.

Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) reported that the cause of this outage was a “circuit lockout.” The disruption was traced back to an incident where an animal came into contact with a piece of equipment, leading to the circuit disruption.

The quick response and restoration by OPPD ensured that residents and businesses faced minimal inconvenience. Safety measures are in place to prevent such incidents, but unexpected encounters like these with wildlife can occasionally cause unexpected interruptions.
