OMAHA, Nebraska – Omaha police blocked off part of 72nd Street for over 12 hours over the weekend.
Officers were called to 72nd and Western Avenues at 3:12 p.m. Sunday, according to the Omaha Police Department. They were told that someone was threatening to jump off the footbridge.
Police identified the man from a previous incident that also lasted more than 12 hours, in which he allegedly threatened to jump off a roof.
The incident at 72nd and Western Avenue continued until 3:30 am Monday, when the man stepped off the bridge.
