La Vista to host annual Easter egg hunt and community food drive on April 19

La Vista, Nebraska – Families in La Vista are invited to join the city’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and Food Drive on Saturday, April 19, at the La Vista Sports Complex. This fun-filled event will feature over 20,000 brightly colored eggs scattered across five soccer fields on the east side of 66th Street. Admission is free, making it an exciting and accessible opportunity for the entire community.

Gates will open at 1 p.m., allowing families time to find parking and take photos with the Easter Bunny before the hunt begins. The egg hunt starts promptly at 2 p.m., and each field will be designated for specific age groups to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. All hunts will begin simultaneously.

The soccer field layout is as follows:

  • Field #1A: Adaptive field for participants ages 0–22

  • Field #1B: Ages 0–2

  • Field #2: Ages 3–4

  • Field #3: Ages 5–7

  • Field #4: Ages 8–10

Children should bring their own basket or bag to collect eggs. Within each age group, five golden eggs will be hidden, offering a chance for an “egg”stra special surprise.

Alongside the egg hunt, La Vista Gives will be hosting a food and cash donation drive to support the NeighborGood Community Pantry. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations to help local families in need.

Due to the popularity of this event, organizers recommend arriving early to ensure enough time for parking and reaching the fields. For additional details, residents can call 402.331.3455.

With an exciting egg hunt, charitable giving, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, this spring celebration promises a joyful afternoon for La Vista families.
