Funeral details announced for Papillion Police Lieutenant Ray Higgins
Papillion, Nebraska – Final funeral details for Papillion Police Department’s Lieutenant Ray Higgins have been made public.
Lt. Higgins, whose untimely passing occurred at his residence on Monday, had dedicated over three decades of his life to the Papillion Police Department. Throughout his illustrious career, he lent his expertise to various divisions, including accident and fire investigation, recreation, and the Metro Fugitive Task Force. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant just last year, in 2021.
As announced on the Police Department’s official Twitter page, Lt. Higgins’ viewing will be taking place on Monday, July 10, between 4 and 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Papillion. The memorial service will follow on Tuesday, July 11, beginning at 10 a.m., with subsequent burial at Cedar Dale Cemetery.
Those unable to attend in person can access a live stream of the service on the Church’s website, its Facebook page, and YouTube channel.
In recognition of Lt. Higgins’ commitment to public service, his family encourages donations in his memory to the Papillion chapter of the First Responders Foundation, the Papillion Volunteer Fire Department, or the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, rather than sending flowers.
