Nebraska Governor Pillen and others rally behind Trump-backed amendment to secure national priorities

Lincoln, Nebraska – Governor Jim Pillen of Nebraska, alongside 21 other Republican governors, expressed strong appreciation to former President Donald Trump for his backing of the U.S. Senate’s amendment to the House Budget Resolution. In a joint letter released earlier this week, the governors thanked Trump for his leadership on conservative priorities, while urging Congress to act swiftly on legislation aligned with his agenda.

“We, like you, understand that more must be done to fully implement the agenda for which millions of Americans voted to see realized,” the letter reads. “In particular, Congress must deliver to your desk a reconciliation bill that reinforces your executive actions and codifies in permanent law policies to secure the border, unleash American energy, restore military supremacy, fight wasteful spending, prevent a debilitating tax hike on working class Americans, and prevent a debt default.”

This call to action comes as the House prepares to take up the budget resolution for final consideration later this week.

The governors voiced support for codifying long-term measures that would secure the border and strengthen national security, cut unnecessary federal spending, and block future tax increases that could impact working-class families. The letter also emphasized restoring military strength and maintaining a balanced fiscal approach as central to the nation’s long-term economic health.

Alongside Gov. Pillen, other signatories included prominent Republican governors such as Sarah Sanders of Arkansas, Brian Kemp of Georgia, Greg Abbott of Texas, and Glenn Youngkin of Virginia. The coalition spans the nation, representing governors from the South, Midwest, and Western U.S.

The show of unity highlights growing momentum among conservative leaders to influence national budget policy and push for a long-term legislative vision rooted in the Trump administration’s political and economic blueprint.
