YWCA of Lincoln asks for donations of unopened hygiene items
LINCOLN, Nebraska (Nebraska) – The YWCA in Lincoln is currently hosting an annual Spring Fling for Hygiene fundraising campaign for its Healthy Hygiene program.
The program accepts full-size and unopened hygiene items, such as hand soap, shampoo, or toothbrushes, for donation to families and individuals in need in Lincoln.
Every month YWCA helps about 30 families with hygiene products. The goal of moving forward is to have enough items to serve even more families.
“Sometimes we have to stop the application process every month because our application service receives so many applicants every month,” said Halea Pakula, director of family and community outreach. “So the impact is great and the need is there.”
The goal of the action is to collect 3000 items. They haven’t reached their goal yet, but there is still time to help. The promotion will run until March 30th. If you are interested in donating items, you can drop them off at YMCA: 5631 S 48th St, Lincoln, NE 68516.
