York man charged with murder after woman found shot to death, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – A York man is facing a first-degree murder charge after a woman was found dead in a house on Monday night, police say.

At approximately 9:50 pm, officers were dispatched to a home near Lincoln and Platte Avenues to investigate a shooting.

After entering the home, officers found Stacie Beutler, who had multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

She was later pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

Officers then received information that the suspect was staying at another house in York.

Approximately 30 minutes later, officers found and arrested 47-year-old Bart Beutler on charges of first-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.

He was then taken to York County Jail.
