Woman punches man in face in New York and asks ‘why are you talking to my girlfriend?’: cops
A stranger slapped a man in the face on New Year’s Eve in Lower Manhattan after growling, “Why are you talking to my girlfriend?” police said.
The 38-year-old man was walking down Greenwich Street near Rector Street around 1:40 am when the suspect asked him a question, authorities said.
She then hit him in the face above his left eye with a “cutting tool,” the police said.
It is not clear if another woman was present at the time.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.
The suspect fled on foot, police said.
Footage released late on Monday showed the suspect jumping over a subway turnstile, wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and jeans without a jacket.
On Tuesday, she was still wanted.
