Wednesday night wrong-way crash in Lincoln fatal for one 52-year-old woman, police

Lincoln, Nebraska – Wednesday night wrong-way crash in Lincoln was fatal for one person, the local police department confirmed.

According to the police report, the incident took place on U.S. Highway 77 just north of Lincoln Wednesday night.

The woman, identified as the 52-year-old Nicki Beenblossom, of Lincoln, was driving her car south in the northbound lanes of the highway when she collided with a SUV.

As a result of the crash, she died at the scene. The first responders confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Right after the head-on impact, the SUV erupted in flames and a deputy who arrived first at the scene with the help of a passerby managed to pull out a woman from the burning vehicle.

Once the EMS crews arrived at the scene, she was transferred to hospital for treatment. No details were given about the extent of her injuries and her condition.
