After another horrific mass shooting in our country, the Left is once again in favor of the Second Amendment and demanding gun control measures.
But one journalist, in a rare piece of real journalism, dismissed these claims and exposed a flaw in the logic of the left gun.
As expected, Newsom echoed the left’s thesis on guns. He even went so far as to call the Second Amendment a “suicide pact”.
But what happened next was unexpected. Instead of passively agreeing to this, O’Donnell countered by saying, “But there are a lot of people in this country who support the Second Amendment and are legal gun owners.”
Newsom quickly retracted a statement he had made just seconds earlier, saying, “I have no ideological opposition to someone who wields a firearm wisely and responsibly.”
After California Gov. Newsom called the Second Amendment a “suicide pact”, CBS’s Nora O’Donnell actually spoke out against it:

But O’Donnell went even further and asked how the shooter was able to obtain a modified pistol with a high-capacity magazine, a pistol that is already illegal under California law.
Newsom was again caught off guard by the question and said, “We’ll figure it all out. It will happen. We must abide by the laws. Things fall through the cracks.”
California has some of the strictest gun laws across the country, and they didn’t stop this tragedy.
We are confronted with a truth that has been demonstrated over and over again but which the left refuses to acknowledge: these gun laws don’t work, criminals can still get guns, and terrible tragedies still happen.
Take Illinois, another dark blue state with restrictive gun laws, for example. Despite all gun control, seven people were killed in a mass shooting in highland park outside of Chicago last summer.
New York is also known for its strict gun laws, but the perpetrator managed to bypass them and carry out a mass shooting in New York. Buffalo Last spring.
The left is constantly saying we need to increase gun control, but the states where these laws have been enacted have not seen a marked drop in violent crime or mass shootings.
The Monterey Park shooting is another example of how gun control measures, while they look good on paper, don’t work in practice.
