UNO: Omaha Police situation at Dodge Street campus not active shooter

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Authorities sent out an alert to UNO students and faculty Friday evening advising them to stay away from the Dodge Street campus and to stay inside if they were already there.

The alerts were sent out just before 6 p.m. Friday. At about 6:30 p.m., UNO was advising that the situation was not an active shooter.

According to University of Omaha Police, OPD was reporting that there was possibly an armed person who may be suicidal on or near the UNO Dodge campus.

Alerts sent via email and text message advised those on campus to remain indoors until they get an “all-clear.”
