Two people injured after vehicle ended up in pond in Lincoln, report

LINCOLN, Nebraska – Late on Wednesday night, a crash that left two persons needing medical attention and threw one vehicle into a pond is being investigated by the Lincoln Police Department.

The collision took place at the intersection of 27th and Yankee Hill just before 11:30 p.m.

The City of Lincoln’s traffic cameras captured images of two automobiles that were involved in the collision, along with numerous additional vehicles that were stopped in the area. The video revealed at one time a white car that had ended up in the water’s edge of a pond just beyond the corner of the intersection that was located to the southeast.

At this point, neither the patients’ conditions nor the full extent of their injuries are known. However, at least two persons have been sent to the hospital. First responders did not have to perform any rescue operations on anyone from either car.

During the time that the police were investigating the accident and cleaning up the debris at the scene, both southbound traffic on 27th just before Yankee Hill and eastbound traffic on Yankee Hill just before 27th had to be stopped.
