Two New York women killed in domestic violence days apart: police officers
On Tuesday, police said two Brooklyn women were killed as a result of domestic violence in their homes three days apart.
Kelly Kwak, 28, was strangled to death in a ground-floor apartment on Gates Avenue off Classon Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9:40 am Friday, authorities said.
Police officers were conducting a health check on her when they found her dead and “with injuries on her body,” police said.
A 32-year-old man, believed to be a person of interest but not charged, was removed from the scene and taken to Woodhull Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
His exact relation to Kwak is unclear.
The city medical examiner ruled that Kwak’s death was a homicide caused by neck compression, a spokesman said.

The 58-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend at a house on Linden Boulevard near East 43rd Street in East Flatbush on Monday afternoon, police said.
Officers found the woman, whose name was not released pending family notification, with multiple stab wounds around 3:45 p.m., authorities said.

Her ex-boyfriend, 71, was taken into custody. Charges were not filed pending review by the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.
They were still living together despite a valid protection order, police said.
