Two Lincoln teenagers, accused to be responsible for Lincoln apartment stabbing, have been arrested

LINCOLN, Nebraska — The Lincoln Police Department has made arrests in connection with the fatal stabbing on Monday evening.

Monday around 4:06 p.m., police responded to complaints of an unconscious male near South 40th Street and Highway 2.

Officers reported discovering Jesse Gilmer, 70, dead at the site with obvious stab wounds.

Sallie Gilmer, 15, and Isaac Honigschmidt, 16, were both detained in relation to the killing of Jesse.

Sallie Gilmer, daughter of Jesse, was present when officers came. She reported that she arrived home from school to see her father stabbed.

Both Honigschmidt and Sallie were questioned by officials.

According to Lincoln police, the interviews, digital evidence, and physical evidence led to the arrests.

Honigschmidt was arrested for aiding and abetting first-degree murder, while Sallie was arrested for first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

This investigation is still ongoing.
