Tuesday afternoon crash between a motorcycle and school bus in Lee County fatal for the motorcyclist

LEE COUNTY, Florida  — Accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon and involved a school bus that was only partially loaded claimed the life of a biker.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 14:00 local time near the intersection of Lee Boulevard and Bruce Avenue North.

According to the first investigations, the motorcyclist, who was 19 years old, was heading east on Lee Boulevard at the same time the bus was turning onto Bruce Avenue.

After that, the motorcycle collided into the side of the bus.

According to the FHP, there were 23 children on board the bus at the time of the collision. Nobody on the bus experienced any kind of injury.

According to the troopers that responded, the speed of the motorcycle was a contributing factor in the collision. An investigation is currently in way.
