Timpte Announces $22 Million Manufacturing Facility at Lincoln Airport
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – A multi-million dollar manufacturing plant is coming to Lincoln Airport.
LNK and Timpte Inc. announced plans for the $22 million Lincoln Manufacturing Center on Thursday.
The 180,000 to 200,000 square foot facility will be built on the west side of the airport in LNK Enterprise Park.
Company officials say trailers, boat accessories and a variety of metal artifacts will be produced at the site. Aftermarket trailer parts will also be distributed through the facility.
“Timpte is excited about the opportunity to expand our manufacturing operations in Lincoln and build on the success we’ve seen over the past 11 years at our West O Street facility,” said Timpte President and CEO Dale Jones in a statement. press. “This new facility will allow us to further diversify our product portfolio and create a variety of well-paying, skilled employment opportunities.”
The companies hope the building will create 80 jobs for Lincoln, bringing Timpte’s employee base to 700.
The new facility is under construction under the 50-year lease agreement between the airport and Timpte.
Other companies, such as Thunderstone Manufacturing and Lincoln Marine, will be supported by the new facility, according to officials.
“We are thrilled with the announcement of Timpte’s plans for continued growth and investment in Lincoln,” said Jason Ball, president and CEO of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. “Timpte has been a leader in its industry for over a century and has been a part of the Lincoln economy for over a decade.”
The company expects construction to begin soon, with groundbreaking expected within the next 60 to 90 days.
