Three vibrant parks in the heart of Omaha’s downtown and along the riverfront will offer unique experiences for all

Three vibrant parks in the heart of Omaha’s downtown and along the riverfront will offer unique experiences for all–and the fun’s just beginning.

The RiverFront, a $325 million transformational initiative, blends the identities of three public parks into one. The recently completed Gene Leahy Mall in the heart of the city offers a performance pavilion, a state-of-the-art playground, interactive water elements, a sculpture garden, a dog park, and numerous other gathering, relaxing, and enjoyable spots. Guests will enjoy live concerts, movies in the park, pop-up events such as yoga and art classes, and convenient access to literature, games, art, and additional portable entertainment.

In 2023, Heartland of America Park and Lewis and Clark Landing, two additional RiverFront parks, will open. These two parks, located east of Gene Leahy Mall and along the riverside, will have a skating ribbon, amphitheater, bocce courts, a pier extending into the Missouri River, an urban beach, prairie garden, and a destination playground, among other amenities. In 2023, the riverfront will also be home to the Kiewit Luminarium, a $101 million science, technology, engineering, and mathematics complex (STEM).

The three parks will eventually connect, creating a connection between the Old Market Entertainment District and the thriving North Downtown of Omaha.
