Abu Dhabi police confirmed that a fire broke out this morning, which led to the explosion of three oil tankers in the industrial part of the emirate.
A small fire also broke out on the construction site of Abu Dhabi International Airport, police said, according to the local state news agency.

The explosion of oil tankers in Abu Dhabi and the fire at the construction site of the new airport in the Emirates this morning were potentially caused by drones, said in a statement the police of Abu Dhabi, transmitted by the official news agency VAM.

The fires have been brought under control and air traffic has not been affected. No significant damage was reported, and a full investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.
