The sixth season, a movie and this is not the end: “Peaky Blinders” continues…

Stephen Knight, creator of the Peaky Blinders series, has finally revealed when he plans to end the popular series. Although he previously announced that the popular TV drama would end with the period of World War II, it does not seem to be the case.

For now, we are following the ascent of Tommy Shelby to the top of the London criminal pyramid, and at the same time he is struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a consequence of the trauma he experienced during the First World War.

It would be logical to follow the story from war to war, but Knight decided not to stop at the originally planned six seasons and the film that will replace the seventh, but intends to follow the family members after the end of World War II. .

“It has always been the idea of Britain between wars and how the lessons of a war are not learned, but repeated. At the same time we are talking about the fall of empires, we are entering the Second World War and in the end there are no more empires. Now I think the story will continue after the war. “I think about the energy that exists in what we do and I want to go on and see how it develops after that,” Knight told Empire.

After the end of the sixth season, which Knight calls “the end of the beginning”, he starts working on a feature film, and filming begins in 2023. It is not known what it will be about, because Knight claims that he does not know until it starts. to write.

“I’m just sitting at the keyboard and if you know the characters well enough, release them and see what they have to say. “Let the dialogue lead the action.”
