The Omaha man who tried to kidnap a child earlier this week faces several charges, court
Omaha, Nebraska – The Omaha man, identified as the 29-year-old Marco Tapia, was arrested earlier this week and now facing several charges after trying to kidnap a child.
According to the incident report, Tapia entered a woman’s home, who has a protection order against him which also lists her children including their three-month-old child, on Tuesday.
Once he entered the home, he took one of the children threatening to kill himself while holding the child. He then went outside, probably trying to kidnap the child, but the woman followed him.
Fortunately, the responding officers arrived on time and all three of the children, including the woman, were unhurt.
Tapia was arrested and he now faces several charges including two counts of three-degree domestic assault, false imprisonment, and theft by unlawful taking.
He was jailed on a $250,000 bond and got his preliminary court hearing scheduled for March 29.
