The North Platte Community Build Playground was officially open on Wednesday after months of hard work

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska —  Following a Wednesday afternoon ribbon-cutting ceremony, the North Platte Community Build Playground is now officially open after months of labor.Donors and children were present during the ribbon-cutting event. Emily Wurl, one of the co-coordinators, discussed the significance of this project to the community and the effort that went into it.

“It was a great deal of labor,” Wurl stated. However, it was one of the most fulfilling endeavors I’ve ever participated in.

According to the crew, 884 individuals participated in the playground’s construction.

They also stated that this was the result of a massive collaborative effort that spanned several months and included comments from children in schools, community surveys, and a steering committee.

The playground can be found within Centennial Park. It is just west of S Oak Street and north of Leota Street.
