The Lincoln woman killed Tuesday night was identified as 36-year-old Jasimin Champion

LINCOLN, Nebraska – Lincoln Police have identified the lady who was slain late Tuesday night in a mobile home park.

Lincoln resident Jasimin Champion, 36, was stabbed in the torso at Contempo in the Highlands near N 1st and W Fairfield Street, according to police. First responders attempted to save her, but she succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Lincoln.

Wednesday around 10 a.m., Charles Alexander, 61, was brought into custody near 11th and Lincoln Mall. He is charged with second-degree murder and the use of a dangerous weapon during the commission of a felony.

The police reported that Alexander and the victim were acquainted, but they are still determining the nature of their relationship. The police are still investigating the cause of the violence.
