The La Vista police chief receives a subpoena from Ryan Larsen’s mother.
OMAHA, Neb. (Nebraska) — New details have emerged in the case of Ryan Larsen, a La Vista boy who went missing in 2021.
Ryan, 12, who has autism, was last seen in May 2021 outside his La Vista school. His mother recently petitioned a Sarpi County Judge to have her son declared missing.
According to court records, a hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at which La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten was subpoenaed to testify.
Lausten asked the judge to cancel this subpoena, stating that the investigation was ongoing and that his testimony could jeopardize efforts to find Ryan.
As of Friday, the judge has not ruled on Lausten’s request.
Tammi Larsen, Ryan Larsen’s mother, filed paperwork to officially declare Ryan dead on January 10.
