The first vehicle, a combination of train and bus, was launched in Japan

Can you imagine what a combination of train and bus would look like and where such a vehicle could go? Now you do not have to imagine because such a vehicle really exists. The world’s first such vehicle was unveiled on Saturday in the Japanese city of Kaiyo in Tokushima Prefecture. In addition to being used to attract tourists, it will also help transport parts from ships to hard-to-reach parts of the country.

The project has been developing for a long time. It took 10 years to realize. Wondering how the new combined vehicle works? Rides with normal rubber tires when on the highway, but has steel wheels for rail driving. These steel wheels protrude from the bottom of the vehicle when it is time to drive on rails. The whole transformation from bus to train takes less than 15 seconds.

The vehicle can accommodate 21 passengers and reach a maximum speed of 60 km / h on rails and 100 km / h on the road, and runs on a diesel engine. It is available in a variety of colors and should be launched off the coast of Shikoku Island in southern Japan. In addition to connecting isolated regions, the vehicle will allow passengers to enjoy the scenery.
