The department said the man died after getting stuck in a grain bin.

DEWITT, Iowa (KWQC/Gray News) — A man died after deputies said he was trapped in a grain bin in Iowa on Wednesday.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the DeWitt Fire Department responded around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a man locked in a grain bin, according to a press release.

Upon arrival, rescuers found the man trapped in a partially filled grain bin.

According to the deputies, firefighters managed to pull the man out of the grain bin, but he had already died.

The identity of the man is currently withheld until the family is notified.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Clinton County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating.
