The classical volleyball tournament dedicated to the President’s Day starts on Saturday at the OMS Medical Center
OMAHA, Neb. (Nebraska) — With the fight in full swing at the CHI Health Center, another event is just getting started there as well.
The classical volleyball tournament dedicated to the President’s Day starts on Saturday. This year there are 530 teams from all over the country and even a few from Canada.
The event is now 20 years old and tournament director Tony Carrow says it’s getting bigger every time.
They have 60 more teams than last year and some even had to drop out because there was no room.
He says participation can have great benefits for players.
“It’s about getting to know and just seeing teams from different parts of the country so you know what you need to work on as the season progresses,” Carrow said.
He expects the three-day tournament to generate $8-9 million for Omaha’s economy.
One of the other reasons he says you should check it out is because there might be some future huskers in the mix.
