According to the projections of a market research group called IDC, the sales of personal computers and tablets will go down throughout the year 2022. The analysts at IDC anticipate that during the course of this year, sales of personal computers would decrease by 12.8%, while sales of tablets will decrease by 6.8%. Before reaching a point of stability in 2024, it is anticipated that both categories will experience a further fall of 2.6% in 2023.
According to the analysis published by IDC, the primary causes for this fall include inflation, a worse global economy, and huge spending over the course of the previous two years.
Already in this year, there has been a reduction in the amount of computers that are being purchased. According to a research that was published by IDC in July, there was a decrease of 15.3% in PC sales in the second quarter as compared to the same quarter in 2021. The number of personal computers sold in 2021 reached an all-time high, breaking the previous record set ten years earlier.
