Store worker attacked and stabbed during robbery in Bellevue on Tuesday, the suspect arrested and charged after fleeing scene

Sarpy County, Nebraska – A man is behind bars and faces several charges accused of violent robbery on Tuesday in Bellevue, local authorities confirmed.

According to the incident report, the violent robbery took place in the afternoon hours on Tuesday at a Gamestop on South 15th Street near Cornhusker Road.

The attacker, later identified as the 25-year-old Calvin Joe Wakefield, of Omaha, attacked the store worker and stabbed him during the attack before taking all the money from the register.

The attacker fled the scene after the incident, but was later identified by the police and arrested near South 41st Street and Bartmann Drive in Bellevue.

Before being arrested, Wakefield tried to run from the authorities, but he was arrested a brief chase.

He was put behind bars in the Sarpy County Jail and faces several charges including robbery, 2nd-degree assault, and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

The police didn’t give information about the victim’s condition.
