Someone abandoned the car in protest, demanding a reduction in the penalty for car thieves – see what happens next
A leftist rally in Washington, D.C., in support of lowering fines for car thieves, was derailed this week after a man tried to steal a car in broad daylight.
To clarify, no, this is not a scene from the Seinfeld episode.
This gem of comedy gold really happened in criminal capital of our country Wednesday, noon, near Union Station.
National Bureauowned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group reported that a group called Hands Off DC held a rally outside the station to share their anger with the US Senate.
MPs vote to abolish fraudulent city council move this would change the D.C. penal code to be more criminal-friendly.
The so-called progressive reforms were so radical that 33 Senate Democrats effectively joined the Republicans in the House to prevent them from taking effect. Even the president Joe Biden advocated the abolition of insane reforms.
Biden, or whoever maintains his Twitter account, actually mentioned the mistreatment of car thieves in a tweet about the issue last week.
I support D.C. statehood and self-government, but I don’t support some of the changes the D.C. Council made over the mayor’s objections, such as reducing car theft fines.
If the Senate votes to reverse what the DC Council did, I’ll sign it.

Do criminals use a crime protection policy?
Hill Noted Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also commented on car thefts, stating his opposition to the city’s insane policies that specifically call for greater leniency towards car thieves.
“Car thefts and thefts have become a daily routine,” McConnell said.
In short, the DC City Council lost their attempt to make it easier for people to steal cars, and the protesters were very upset about it.
But when their voices were heard, someone right in front of Union Station tried to steal a car that the delivery driver had left behind.
Freelance journalist Andrew Leyden captured the ironic moment on video and posted it on his Facebook page. Twitter check.
“I leave Union Station and go to [attempted] car robbery,” Leiden wrote. “The courier driver left [the] the car started up and the guy jumped into it. Another person saw this and called the police. Robber escaped by running past D.C. penal reform protesters outside (seriously).”

The video shows the man getting out of the car as a bystander yells, “That’s my car!”
No arrests were made.
Hands off, DC openly declares on the Internet about his radical program for the city.
A thorough search of the group’s website and social media presence turned up no comments about an attempted carjacking that took place during its rally in support of the carjackers.
