The number of new cases of coronavirus in Japan has increased 50 times since the beginning of the year.
Local media reported that the number of daily cases of Covid-19 in Japan exceeded 25,000, for the first time since August 2021.
In the last 24 hours, 25,630 newly infected coronaviruses were registered in Japan, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 1,859,973.
Some regions broke their own records. There were 3,692 cases in the southeastern city of Osaka, 1,829 on the southernmost island of Okinawa and more than 1,000 in Hiroshima.
Given that the number of new cases on January 1, 2022 was 457, the number of daily cases of Covid-19 has increased by as much as 50 times in the last two weeks.
The highest daily number of Covid-19 cases ever recorded in Japan was 25,992, and it was registered on August 20, 2021.
