MIAMI, Florida – An disagreement evolved into a shootout inside a Walmart in southwest Miami-Dade County on Wednesday, officials said, resulting in the death of one man and the questioning of another.
More than a dozen Miami-Dade Police cruisers could be seen outside the store at 21151 South Dixie Highway in Goulds, where the incident occurred.
According to Miami-Dade Police officers, the incident began when two guys argued in the business. The conflict escalated until gunshots was exchanged.
One of the men was shot and sent to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
The second suspect was detained at the scene, according to authorities. According to investigators, the gun used in the crime has been retrieved.
Family relatives have identified 19-year-old Noah Perez as the victim of a fatal shooting.
Perez’s godfather, Daryl Collins, stated, “That was my godson, and I just received the news that he was shot and killed.”
According to Perez’s relatives, he entered Walmart with his aunt and two-year-old son.
“He was just beginning his life,” said a family member who requested anonymity for safety reasons. “I only pray that these children lay down their weapons,”
