German Foreign Minister Annalen Bayerbock said today that tensions with Russia could be resolved through diplomacy, but warned that Moscow would suffer the consequences if it invaded Ukraine.
– Any further aggressive act will have a high price for Russia, economically, strategically, politically. Diplomacy is the only way, Bayerbok said at a joint news conference in Kiev with Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that Ukraine and Germany are united in reviving peace talks to end the war in eastern Ukraine.
Bayerbok will travel from Kiev to Moscow.
Talks between Moscow and Western nations over the deployment of tens of thousands of Russian troops along the Ukrainian border ended last week without any progress. The cyber-attack on Ukraine has further increased tensions.
