Russia: “Gamaleja”, the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, is considering the possibility of developing polyvalent vaccines

Moscow, Russia – Russia’s Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology is considering developing polyvalent vaccines against new strains of coronavirus infections based on different variants such as delta and omicron, said Denis Logunov, deputy director.

“It is possible to develop such a complex vaccine against coronavirus,” Logunov said in an interview with Russia-1 TV channel, reports the Russian agency TASS.

He specified that one part of the vaccine would be based on the original variant or delta strain, and the other on the omicron strain, so that such a vaccine would provide greater protection against new variants of the virus.
