Robber duo steal $50,000 worth of gems from NYC posh store: NYPD

The burglar duo, a man and a woman, threatened to harm a jewelry store clerk before stealing $50,000 worth of gems from Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, police said.

The robbers entered Melissa Joy Manning Jewelry on Court Street around 3 p.m., grabbed the employee and “forced her to open the jewelry box,” police said.

According to the spokesman, the two did not have weapons, but threatened the woman with physical force.

The store boasts ethically crafted jewelry, including a $8,090 1.8-carat gray diamond ring and a $10,125 white diamond halo ring.
