Plattsmouth woman shot to death by a teenager, the suspect arrested
PLATTSMOUTH, Nebraska — Thursday, investigators in Cass County, Nebraska, arrested an 18-year-old guy for the murder of a lady in her house south of Plattsmouth.
Jabari Parsons is being jailed on suspicion of first-degree murder in Mary Blackwell’s death.
Blackwell, 55, was discovered with a fatal stab wound and other injuries in the living room of her house south of Plattsmouth.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department said that deputies were dispatched to Blackwell’s residence at 3:11 p.m. on Thursday in response to a probable disturbance. The 911 caller later reported a little fire in the main room of the residence.
The blaze was extinguished when cops arrived. They discovered Blackwell on the living room floor and Parsons at the scene.
The Douglas County Crime Site Investigations unit aided with evidence collection at the scene.
