Berliner Christian Rothmann’s daring colorism will be on full display at his reciprocal engagement at the Zodiac Garden Gallery, where his vibrant paintings will be on display on February 2nd.
Working on a group of dynamic new works in oil, ink and watercolor, Rothmann explores the inspiration of mountain landscapes. Radiant color is at the forefront, geometrically used as a structural element, with gestures that form a hint of topography and movement in space. The works recall the opulence of his characteristic botanical imagery, with the romantic sublimity often associated with the landscape.
“Christian Rothmann: Fields of Color” opens at the Garden of the Zodiac Gallery, 1042 Howard Street in Old Market Passageway on February 2 with an opening reception from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm; The show will run until April 2nd. It is open Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 20:00 and Sundays from noon to 18:00.
