LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – A man tried to rob a Lincoln sports bar Tuesday night, but he was stopped by patrons of the bar, police say.
At around 8:50 pm, Delmer Dormer, 32, stole money from a cash register at Risky’s Sports Bar near 48th Street and Leighton Avenue.
But patrons at the café leapt into action and detained Dormer before he could leave, according to police.
Officers eventually arrived, and Dormer, who police said had an active warrant for his arrest, gave authorities a false name.
Once officers addressed Dormer by his real name, he tried to flee but was tackled to the ground by an officer.
Dormer was then taken to a local hospital to be treated for a wound above his eye, according to police.
Upon his release from the hospital, Dormer was arrested on charges of grand larceny theft and attempted escape.
