Omaha police released the identity of the victim that died in Northwest Omaha wreck Sunday
OMAHA, Nebraska – Sunday’s accident near 156th and Maple resulted in one fatality and three injuries.
Four automobiles were involved in the accident that occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m.
Police in Omaha have established that the dead is Velma Sanders, age 65.
Sanders was a passenger in her 85-year-old mother’s gray Acura, which sustained severe damage.
The police report that a gray Acura heading westbound at a high rate of speed crossed the median and collided with a maroon Subaru waiting in the eastbound turn lanes.
Also affected by the crash were a silver Volvo and a black Kia.
The driver of the Subaru was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but the driver of the Volvo sustained injuries but is expected to live.
Omaha Police are now investigating the incident and redirecting traffic in the area.
