Omaha police lead the pursuit of the stolen vehicle, moving into pursuit near 144th Street downtown.

OMAHA, Nebraska (Nebraska) — Omaha police were chasing a stolen car off 144th Street and West Center Road tonight.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m., a Nissan Altima was spotted with stolen license plates. The OPD attempted to stop traffic at West Center and Industrial Road, but the driver sped east toward 144th Street and West Center.

ABLE-1 was chasing the suspect as he stopped at an intersection, crashing into one car that crashed into another. The car stopped about a quarter of a mile south of there.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, set off in an easterly direction on foot. He was found brandishing a gun, whereupon officers were able to arrest him, apprehend him, and take him to Douglas County Corrections. The 25-year-old passenger also fled north on foot, but was also detained.

No other injuries or damage were reported.
