Omaha police arrest suspect in woman’s neck stabbing

OMAHA, Nebraska (Nebraska) — The Omaha Police Department has arrested a suspect after a late-night stabbing that left a 22-year-old woman injured.

Here’s what we know from the police

Officers were called to the 92nd Avenue and Blondeau area at 00:51 for cuts. Police spoke to the victim, who was identified as 22-year-old Maty Kiala.

She said she was stabbed in the neck and the suspect fled before police arrived.

The suspect, who was identified as 21-year-old Apoline Wasingha, was later found at her home and taken into custody.

During the investigation, the police stated that Wasingha confessed to stabbing the victim. Wasingya was prosecuted for second-degree assault and using a weapon to commit a felony.
