LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – A 61-year-old man died on Monday after his car hit a school bus in a Benson neighborhood.

Officers were called to a scene near 58th and Blondo Streets at around 8:45 a.m. Thursday, according to the Omaha Police Department.

Police think a DTS Cadillac driven by Yusuf Kafele was heading west on Blondo Street when it crossed the Center Line and hit a school bus.

Kafele was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition and died of his injuries on Monday, police said.

Nine students were on the bus at the time of the accident. Police say none of them had visible injuries, but two were taken to hospital as a precaution.
