Omaha man arrested after harassment to stand trial on unpaid charges
OMAHA, Nebraska. (Nebraska) — A man accused of running away from a bus stop and attempting to steal a car earlier this week is facing trial for outstanding warrants.
Kyler Palma, 27, was one of two people arrested on Wednesday after Omaha police launched a pursuit when a suspicious car left a stop and passengers allegedly tried to steal the vehicle.
Palma faces numerous charges since Wednesday’s incident, but has also been arrested on three outstanding warrants.

One warrant was issued in connection with an incident in 2022 in which Palma allegedly failed to appear in court in September on charges of stealing less than $500. Palma appeared in court Thursday on the charges and pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 10 days.
Then on Friday, Palma was back in court on two other outstanding warrants.
In August 2022, Palma was charged with possession of methamphetamine and theft by obtaining stolen property, in this case an SUV. On August 16, 2022, he was allegedly found in an SUV at a gas station in Omaha with an open bottle of whiskey next to him. At the time, he also had a warrant to steal from Douglas County stores. The pistol was also redesigned, which turned out to be a realistic looking shotgun. He failed to appear in court on the charge on September 27, 2022. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 20.
In a third incident, Palma was accused of running away while under arrest on felony charges. On September 3, 2022, he was added to the list of people who opted out of the Reentry Assistance Program. He allegedly ran out the door while he was doing paperwork and was held there on charges of shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance.
In court Friday, Palma set bail at $50,000. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 20.
