Omaha home almost completely damaged in a fire incident early Saturday morning

OMAHA, Nebraska – On Saturday morning, Omaha Fire Department workers were able to extinguish a fire.

At 6:09 a.m. on Saturday, fire crews were dispatched to the vicinity of 27th and C Street in response to reports of smoke in a single-family dwelling, as stated by the Omaha Fire Department.

A working fire was reported around 6:30 in the morning, and by 6:53 in the morning, the incident was brought under control by the responding crews.

Allegedly, the residents of the home reported to the responding firefighters that they first smelled smoke, then heard thunder and lightning.

According to the Fire Department, they discovered a fire in the bedroom close to one of the appliances in the room. It was established that an accident was the root of the problem.

The damage to the house caused by the fire was around $30,000.
