Omaha fire incident on Sunday: building suffered serious damage worth more than $250,000

OMAHA, Nebraska – Sunday morning, smoke from a fire in downtown Omaha was visible throughout the region.

According to the Omaha Fire Department, workers responded to a fire near 13th and Grace Street at 8:55 a.m. on Sunday.

The call was in reaction to a probable trash fire in an industrial area, indicated by a still alarm. Multiple portions south of a business’s structure were on fire when responders arrived.

According to Omaha Fire, a substantial amount of black smoke was emanating from the business and the garbage mounds.

Multiple engine and truck companies were called to provide assistance.

Additionally, portions of the business’s roof fell due to thermal deterioration. The structure sustained around $253,900 in damages.
