OMAHA, Nebraska – Beginning this week, motorists in Omaha may anticipate that Interstate 680 will be closed every night.
Starting this week, the southbound I-680 loop to the eastbound West Dodge Road will be blocked nightly due to construction, as stated by the Nebraska Department of Transportation (Nebraska DOT). The shutdown is expected to last until a date that has not yet been established in the fall of 2022.
The road will be closed from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, and Thursday, September 15, and remain closed until 6 a.m. each night. The loop will be closed for the night at 8 o’clock every night until the construction is finished.
Resurfacing of the bridge deck is the goal of this project.
