Nutritionists advise people to ingest barley frequently because it keeps our skin healthy and offers cancer protection

There are 354 calories in 100 grams of barley. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids. It contains vitamins A, D, E and a higher amount of vitamin B12 (which is otherwise rare in plants). It is rich in minerals such as potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, phosphorus, cobalt, fluorine and iodine. Barley is also rich in pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which plays a key role in the creation of red blood cells and sex hormones.

Barley water – a universal remedy for all types of inflammation

Barley water is a well-known folk remedy for all types of inflammation. It can be consumed during inflammation of the respiratory, digestive and urinary tracts. It is also known to relieve nausea and vomiting. Put one teaspoon of cleaned barley (without husk) in one liter of cold water. Let it boil and leave it on high heat for another ten minutes. Strain it using cheesecloth and drink it warm, twice a day. Barley mucilage that remains after cooking is an important dietary food that helps with digestion problems and stomach pains. To get rid of a sore throat, you can also add a teaspoon of honey and the juice of one lemon to the warm barley water.

Barley can be used to make a healthy, natural mask for facial wrinkles. Boil 20 grams of barley grain in one liter of water until it becomes soft. Then it is mashed and squeezed well through cheesecloth. The resulting porridge is used as a face mask. Keep it on your face for about 20 minutes. Then remove and put compresses from the drained liquid on the face to stand for 10 minutes. At the same time, drink a cup of warm barley tea (the liquid that will remain). For ideal results, repeat this procedure three times a week.
