New York fishmonger stabs man, injures brother in skirmish over stolen shrimp: cops
Authorities said an Upper Manhattan fish market worker fatally stabbed a man and wounded his brother after one of the siblings tried to steal shrimp from a diner late Tuesday night.
Both brothers, aged 25 and 29, were stabbed to death at the Fish Express fish market on St. Nicholas Square near Edgecombe Avenue in Sugar Hill around 9:45 pm, police said.
Authorities say the deadly altercation began when one of the brothers tried to steal the fish.
At first, he was kicked out of the market without any disturbance, but he soon returned with his brother, and the couple became violent, according to the police.
The worker then pulled out a knife and stabbed both attackers in the torso, authorities said.

Both were taken to a Harlem hospital, where the younger brother was pronounced dead, while the older brother is in stable condition.
Arriving police officers detained the worker, a criminal case was initiated against him. His name is not immediately revealed.
A knife was seized at the scene.

The name of the murdered brother has not been released until the family is notified.
