Nebraskans can now report sex trafficking or labor trafficking to a new dedicated hotline

LINCOLN, Nebraska- The public can now use a new local hotline to report suspected instances of sex or labor trafficking.

Thursday’s statement was made by Attorney General Doug Peterson and the Nebraska State Patrol.

The Nebraska Human Trafficking Hotline is available 24/7 at 833-PLS-LOOK (833-757-5665). The purpose of the Nebraska Human Trafficking Hotline is to gather tips on probable human trafficking and promptly forward them to local investigators. The Nebraska Information Analysis Center, a branch of the Nebraska State Patrol, will receive anonymous tips.

“This new hotline is the product of an ongoing relationship between the Nebraska State Patrol, the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Attorney General’s Office,” said Colonel John Bolduc, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “Public disclosures can save victims, halt trafficking organizations, and prosecute offenders. We urge everyone who observes indicators of human trafficking to promptly report it.”

Calling the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888 is still encouraged for those seeking victim services. Visit the website of the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office to learn more about the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force, including how to recognize the signs of trafficking, how to get engaged, and how to receive assistance.
