Nebraska SWAT Patrolman Arrests Lyon Man After Standoff

LINCOLN, Nebraska (Nebraska) – Soldiers from the Nebraska State Special Forces Patrol Group arrested one man after a standoff in Lyon Saturday night.

The NSP reported that the Burt County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyon Police Department arrived at the scene with an armed barricaded subject at 100 State Street in Lyon around 5:20 pm. Sheriff’s office. The NSP SWAT team was activated after several hours of trying to negotiate with the subject.

Around midnight, NSP SWAT entered the home and were able to apprehend the subject without further incident. The subject, 61-year-old Chris Garrett, was arrested for terrorist threats.

Additional charges are pending with the Burt County Sheriff’s Office. Garrett was placed in the Burt County Jail.
